The word “Yoga” originates from Sanskrit and mean “Yuj”…..that is “to join” “to unite”. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, Man & Nature.

Yoga exercises have a holistic effect and bring body, mind, consciousness and soul into balance. In this way Yoga assists us in coping with everyday demands, problems and worries. Yoga helps to develop a greater understanding of our self, the purpose of life.

Lord Shiva is considered as First Yogi or Adiyogi of the world.

Many thousands of years ago in India,on the banks of the lake Kantisarovar in the Himalayas, Adiyogi poured his profound knowledge into the legendary Saptarishis or “seven sages” who later spread the knowledge of Yoga to entire world. Rishi Agastya spread it in India. Rishis (wise men and saints) explored nature and the cosmos in their meditations. They discovered the laws of the material and spiritual realms and gained an insight into the connections within the universe. They investigated the cosmic laws, the laws of nature and the elements, life on earth and the powers and energies at work in the universe – both in the external world as well as on a spiritual level.  Much of this knowledge has been rediscovered and confirmed by modern science. in written form it’s been explained in detail in Holi scriptures of Rig-Veda.

Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being; yoga helps promote a balanced development of all the three.

Yogic exercises recharge the body with cosmic energy and facilitates:

  • Attainment of perfect equilibrium and harmony.
  • Promotes self- healing.
  • Removes negative blocks from the mind and toxins from the body
  • Enhances personal power
  • Thus, yoga bestows upon every aspirant the powers to control body and mind.
